COSHH is the abbreviation for ‘Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’. The most updated regulation is the COSHH Regulations 2002, protecting all individuals from hazardous substances within a workplace.
This course will teach you what COSHH is, some of the forms of hazardous substances that may be found within a workplace, as well as the identification process of these. The course explores the health risks of hazardous substances within the workplace. It will look at the common health hazards within workplaces, as well as the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) in relation to hazardous substances. The course will conclude by covering COSHH assessments, as well as the reasons that workplaces must abide to the regulations in place. It will also outline the definitions of emergencies, accidents and incidents, as well as the importance of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
